Opening Soon: 2026 Family Camp Registration!

Get out your calendar and start planning your 2026 getaway now – OFRC Summer 2026 Family Camp registration is opening at 5pm on Monday, November 3! We recommend booking early to have the best chance of your preferred session being available (in 2025,  many sessions had waiting lists within the first week of registration).

We use the CampBrain portal for Family Camp registration. If you don’t already have a CampBrain account, you’ll be able to create one when registration opens. In the meantime, mark your calendar for November 3! In addition to offering reduced rates for Oakland residents, there are several other ways to save.

  • Returning campers who register before midnight on November 17 receive a 5% Early Bird discount
  • New campers receive a generous 10% discount on their first registration.
  • Encourage friends and family who’ve never been to OFRC to join you, and you both save! On top of our new camper discount, we’ll give them an additional $100 referral discount, and you’ll get a $50 credit at the Camp Store. (This promotion is valid only for new camper registrations before midnight on December 15, and referring households are limited to a maximum Camp Store credit of $200.)
  • Need financial assistance? We’re expanding our Campership (camp scholarship) program for Oakland residents. (Learn more below.)

2026 Family Camp Calendar

Each week of summer Family Camp has a unique theme, and we offer both 7-day/6-night sessions (Sunday to Saturday) and 4-day/3-night  sessions (Sunday to Wednesday or Wednesday to Saturday with the exception of Labor Day Weekend).

What is Base Camp? Our NEW Base Camp program in late August and early September offers all the fun of an immersive outdoor camping experience without having to set up your tent, cook, or clean. OFRC’s Chow Palace will serve three meals a day, and our swimming hole and Camp Store will be open. Campers can play games, hang out on the Veranda, and explore local trails and sites, but there will not be organized activities facilitated by OFRC staff. Base Camp (2-night minimum) is a great option for adults who want to camp on their own or as a group, team retreats, and families with young or home-schooled children.

Visit our Summer Family Camp page for more information about camp programs and activities.

There is an additional Facilities Maintenance Surcharge of $10 per Tent/Cabin per night. Optional fees include an Electricity Surcharge ($10 per Tent/Cabin per night) if you choose a Tent or Cabin with electricity and an Extra Tent/Cabin Surcharge ($100 for 3 nights and $200 for 6 nights per extra Tent/Cabin) if you choose more Tents/Cabins than required for the number of campers in your party. Discounts do not apply to surcharges. Please Note: A deposit of 25% of your total costs is required to secure your reservation.

Campership Program

Thanks to the support of generous donors, supporters, and funders, we are able to provide a significant number of Camp Scholarships (“Camperships”) each summer to families who cannot afford the full cost of camp due to financial barriers or circumstantial hardships. Camperships are largely determined by household income and are only available to Oakland residents.

Campership applications can be submitted as part of the camp registration process beginning on November 3. Instructions for how to apply for a Campership will be posted here in mid to late October.

Please note that Camperships cannot be combined with discounts or promotions other than Oakland resident rates.

Questions? Detailed FAQs and registration policies will be posted here in mid to late October.
